DR4X Weekly Changelog #9: 9/03/2021


Hey guys! Its your DR4X weekly changelog! A lot of great changes this week:


Gameplay and UI

-Improved graphics, added new graphical upgrades, added toggle for them in options

-New UI, thank you Grimwit for your help! (Check out his stuff on twitter at @Sir_Grimwit as well as his comic Natchevil!)

-Added new loading screen, New Splash screen, with an extremely retro aesthetic! (Brought to you By NodeOs, the universal operating system!)

-Made game, Main menu load faster.

-improved event generator, added new super rare events.

-Made lawlessness scenario more challenging

-Most sounds now load in the background, which speeds up map gen (since it doesn't have to load the sounds of the prefabs before they are finished loading as well as main menu (which now takes 3 seconds to load rather than what it took before))

-Removed camera rotation, improved control of camera, you can now hold shift to scroll faster and use arrow keys and wasd.

-Cutpurses now work properly

-Add chance to hit calculation for AI to optimize with

-Add min damage calculation for AI to optimize with

-Now Displays chance to hit on mouse hover when unit who can attack is selected

-Now Displays minimum damage on mouse hover when unit who can attack is selected

-Make calculation only display when in unit selected mode

-Added over a two hundred new hints! (some much rare than others!)


Bug Fixes

-Fixed bug with camera rotation but that hardly matters since I also disabled it

-Fix bug with artifacts resulting in crazy massive amounts of stats on some buildings

-Fixed typo in options menu

-Fixed typos in scenarios

-Made text less burry due to it using the incorrect version of the font

-Fixed bug with mushrooms, and vigilance units, if two units killed the same unit in the same part of a frame.

-Buff/Flag colors now save and load properly


Balancing

-Gremlin Rebalancing: Made building a settler cost 200, upkeep 15 -> 5 Establishment cost 75-> 0

-Arsonists can now build camps that train new arsonists

-Changed hooligan start to two arsonists and a camp

-Ai can now prioritize attacking those it has a better chance to hit

-Made AI more aggressive

-AI now can defend itself a bit


Suggestion for testers

Try a game as the hooligans and let me know how it goes and what features you think they need, ill be fleshing them out next.
