DR4X Friday build: 7/9/2021


Like I said, I'm going to start posting changelogs here, the game still needs to be downloaded via patreon though, so if you want it, 1 dollar a month is enough. ;)

Massive DR4X Friday build: 7/9/2021

Second Big Friday build!

Massive changelog :)

Changes:

-Added new random events system, treasure appearing by towns and so on

-Can set random event frequency in skirmish setup

--Scenarios also have it

-When a building is holding artifacts/consumables there is now a button that lets you tell the building to drop it's artifacts

-Added Town Guards and Elite Town Guards, built in watch towers and guard towers, which can be built by cults and kingdoms

--They have  massive bonus against cavalry

--They are very resistant to cavalry attacks and archers

--They can drop artifacts like buildings with their new Henchman 1 flag

-Vigilance now is better at targeting the units it has the best chance of killing/hurting

-Ai now knows how to tell its units to attack the ones it has the best chance of hurting, including actually making use of the pack/Thweeth flag. 

-Added new hard counter system, a new popup will tell you when something is a hard counter, eg rangers hard counter warriors, and cavalry had counter rangers, etc which is basically a massive damage boost

-Reworked crit system so that if a unit dodges you cant crit it  anyway anymore

-Major graphical improvements, things have better colors and look less washed out

-Added bloom

-I know some folks dislike bloom so you can now disable bloom and vignette in the options menu, and improved options menu

-Triggers in scenarios now work more reliably

-Gave Bog trolls and Bog troll lairs , and Swamp Troll lairs new unit portraits

-Added flavor events based on dark force

-Unknown dark force now actually chooses one in the background, just doesn't tell you what it is via the sky color and such anymore so it is indeed unknown

-Improved all the random name generators and random generators and consolidated them so I could make more effective use of them

-More variations for multiverse system

-City names now more dynamically generated

-Empire names now can include more variation and fun stuff

-More hints

-Fixed more typos

-Improved your office significantly from a lighting/tension standpoint

-Added horror stingers in your office

-Improved monster door banging behavior in your office

-Your office now ramps up over time

-Creatures in your office now have more personality

-Improved lighting in your office

-Lots of unit rebalancing, for example, rangers annihilate skeletons now
